Lori Feldman Profile
"Design works best when it’s cohesive. By assuming full control of the design process, from the creation of architectural plans and hands-on management of construction crews to the placement of every accessory, I successfully achieve integrated environments for my clients."
Lori Feldman is an energetic young designer with something to say. Her point of view and ability to excel in the competitive field of interior design is the result of her varied history and tenacious character. Feldman is best suited to projects that employ her “turn-key” service, designing from the ground up. In fact, she thrives when allowed to inject her vision from inception to completion, interfacing with everyone from the architect to construction crews and contracted artisans. With a fresh decorating and building style, Feldman coordinates texture and color with scale and proportion to create unique, timeless environments.
Feldman’s early sense of design was nurtured by her lifelong interest in the arts. She studied painting at Saint Martins in London, art history in Florence before receiving her Bachelors in textile design at Syracuse University. Subsequent to graduation, she exercised her creative abilities in fashion as a colorist, collection linebuilder and accessory designer at such renowned companies as Nine West, Liz Claiborne and Urban Outfitters. Feldman’s accomplishments at the drawing board made way for a leap into management, skills she now finds useful in directing her large-scale construction projects. Realizing her true calling, Feldman went on to obtain her degree in Design from The New York School of Interior Design.
At the helm of her own business since 1998, Lori Feldman enjoys a flourishing design practice. Urban projects have included many homes in Boston and several in New York, notably reconstructed downtown loft conversions. Two expansive Long Island projects are also among her successes, a complete renovation of an 8,000 square foot house on Shelter Island and a soup to nuts home in Quogue. Feldman is currently working on several upscale projects simultaneously with the near completion of her own residence in Connecticut.
The word is out on Lori Feldman. This talented young designer has been featured in six HGTV segments of “Contemporary Design in America” and on “Fine Living Television” with host Sheila Bridges, as well as appearing in Boston Design magazine, and being named one of Boston’s top design firms. Most recently one of House Beautiful up and coming designers to watch. Together with her multi-faced design skills, her managerial, professional and personal styles have made her a much in demand designer and construction manager. Feldman is now in the enviable position of pursuing those projects that allow her the full spectrum creative control for optimal results.
